OAKLAND -- A's ace Sonny Gray is one of three finalists for the Baseball Writers' Association of America's American League Cy Young Award, joining the Astros' Dallas Keuchel and the Blue Jays' David Price.
Gray's credentials include a 14-7 ledger and 2.73 ERA, third lowest in the league. He also tied for the AL lead with two shutouts and held opponents to a .217 batting average -- tied for second in the league -- in just his second full big league season, earning his first trip to the All-Star Game.
