A's at the plate: Travis Buck doubled and scored when Marco Scutaro followed with a single. Erubiel Durazo also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly and Donnie Murphy had three hits. Javier Herrera drove in the winning run with a one-out single in the bottom of the ninth.

Giants at the plate: Eugenio Velez jammed his wrist on a play in the first inning, but it didn't stop him from collecting two hits, including a double, and driving in a run. Fred Lewis also doubled home a run.

A's on the mound: Right-hander Joe Blanton was impressive in his second start, giving up two runs on five hits in 3 2/3 innings. He walked one and struck out two. Right-handers Jay Witasick, Huston Street and Kiko Calero combined to pitch 3 1/3 scoreless innings with no walks and five strikeouts.

Giants on the mound: Right-hander Brad Hennessey turned in his best effort yet. In his first start, he allowed one run on three hits in four innings. That's in direct contrast to allowing six runs in his first two appearances, a span of four innings.

Cactus League records: Giants 9-4; Athletics 6-5

Up next: Left-hander Joe Kennedy (0-0, 22.09) looks to reverse his spring fortunes on Monday when he takes the mound against the Seattle Mariners in Peoria. Kennedy has allowed a team-high nine earned runs in 3 2/3 innings over his previous two starts. Kennedy is a front-runner for the fifth spot in the A's rotation. Seattle sends right-hander Felix Hernandez to the mound. Righty Matt Morris (0-0, 15.43) gets the call for the Giants on Monday in Mesa against the Chicago Cubs and righty Carlos Zambrano.
