The Oakland A's reinstated outfielder Coco Crisp from the disabled list and optioned infielder Eric Sogard to Triple-A Sacramento, the club announced today.
Crisp was batting .194 with one double and five RBI in 18 games when he was placed on the 15-day disabled list May 4 retroactive to May 3 with an inner ear infection. He was a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts and has been successful in each of his last 27 stolen base attempts dating back to last year. That is one short of the Oakland record of 28 set by Stan Javier in 1995. Crisp made 15 of his 17 starts in left field, his first starts in left since 2005.
Sogard was on the A's Opening Day roster and was batting .136 with two home runs and six RBI in 21 games. However, he was 3-for-33 (.091) over his last 11 contests. Sogard started 17 games at three different positions, including 10 at third base, four at second base and three at shortstop.
