RHP Danny Farquhar claimed off waivers by the New York Yankees


OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s announced today that right-handed pitcher Danny Farquhar was claimed off waivers by the New York Yankees.

Farquhar was claimed off waivers by the A’s from Toronto June 9 and was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento that day.  He went 1-2 with a 10.13 ERA in five relief appearances with the River Cats before he was designated for assignment on Sunday when the A’s selected A.J. Griffin.  Prior to joining the A’s, Farquhar was 0-1 with a save and a 2.97 ERA in 20 relief appearances with Double-A New Hampshire.
