A's Reinstate Cowgill from Disabled List and Option him to Sacramento


OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's reinstated outfielder Collin Cowgill from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Sacramento, the club announced today.

Cowgill was batting .271 with a home run and nine RBI in 32 games with the A's when he was placed on the disabled list June 23 with a sprained left ankle.  He began a rehab assignment with Single-A Stockton July 9 and went 1 for 8 (.125) in two games before he was transferred to Sacramento last Thursday.  Cowgill went 3 for 18 (.167) with a RBI in four games with the River Cats and is hitting .260 with two home runs and 17 RBI in 23 games overall at Sacramento.
