OAKLAND -- A's outfielder Coco Crisp sat out Sunday's series finale against the Orioles while dealing with allergic conjunctivitis, otherwise known as pink eye.

The highly contagious eye infection typically lasts for just a day or two, so Crisp is expected to be back in the starting lineup for the A's opener in Detroit on Tuesday.

In his stead, Yoenis Cespedes shifted from left field to center field, while Collin Cowgill got the start in left -- his first since being recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Sept. 1.

Elsewhere in the lineup, Adam Rosales drew his third consecutive start at second base, as the A's faced their third straight lefty in Randy Wolf. Wolf's ex-batterymate, George Kottaras, got the start behind the plate for Oakland.
