RHP Jim Miller claimed off waivers by Yankees


The Oakland A’s announced today that right-handed pitcher Jim Miller was claimed off waivers by the New York Yankees.  Miller was designated for assignment Nov. 20.

Miller had four stints with the A’s in 2012 and was 2-1 with a 2.59 ERA and .217 opponents batting average in 33 appearances.  However, he issued 27 walks in 48.2 innings (4.99 per nine innings).  Miller spent the balance of the season with Sacramento where he was 0-3 with six saves, a 2.79 ERA and .208 opponents batting average in 16 relief appearances.
