Crisp sits out again with strained left groin

OAKLAND -- Outfielder Coco Crisp was not in the starting lineup for a second straight day due to a strained left groin.

He appeared in good spirits in the clubhouse Sunday, and A's manager Bob Melvin was looking forward to watching him during batting practice.

"We'll have a better indication of where he is after batting practice," Melvin said.

Meanwhile, infielder Adam Rosales is getting closer to a rehab assignment.

Rosales took batting practice the past two days and needs to clear one final hurdle as he recovers from a strained left intercostal.

"He needs to turn the double play and make an aggressive throw," Melvin said. "That's how he hurt it in the first place."
