OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's placed first baseman Brandon Moss on the paternity list and recalled outfielder Shane Peterson from Triple-A Sacramento, the club announced today.
Moss is batting .283 in 13 games and has a team-leading 13 RBI, which is tied for third in the American League. He must remain on the paternity list at least one day but no more than three days.
Peterson was hitting .410 with five doubles and seven RBI in 11 games with Sacramento. He leads the Pacific Coast League with 13 walks and has a .558 on-base percentage, which ranks third. Peterson is also tied for second in the PCL in runs (13), tied for fifth in doubles and tied for sixth in batting. He has hit safely in each of his last six games and is 14 for 27 (.519) with nine runs scored and five multiple hit games over that span. The 25-year-old has appeared in six games in left field, three in right field, one at first base and one at designated hitter.
