OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's traded outfielder Casper Wells to the Chicago White Sox in exchange for cash considerations, the club announced today.

Wells was acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays April 22 for cash and went 0 for 5 in three games with the A's before he was designated for assignment yesterday. He was with Seattle this spring and hit .189 with two home runs and 14 RBI in 16 games before he was designated for assignment March 31. Wells was claimed off waivers by Toronto April 10, reported to the Blue Jays April 12, and did not appear in a game before he was designated for assignment April 15.
