A's Recall OF Michael Taylor; Place OF Young on DL

The Oakland Athletics have recalled outfielder Michael Taylor from Triple-A Sacramento and placed outfielder Chris Young on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left quad, retroactive to April 30.

Taylor, who was batting .329 with six doubles, five home runs and 16 RBI in 18 games with the River Cats, was previously recalled by the A's April 13 and appeared in three games, including one start April 15 against Houston in left field (0 for 4). He was 0 for 6 in three games with Oakland before being optioned to Sacramento April 23.

Young, who suffered his injury during the Athletics' 19-inning, 10-8 victory over the Los Angeles Angels Monday, was hitting .172 (15 for 87) with five doubles, one triple, four home runs, 15 RBI and five stolen bases. He had a pinch hit RBI single in eighth inning of Monday's extra inning game and went two for four before leaving the game with a strained left quad in the 15th inning.
