A's Infielder Adam Rosales Claimed off Waivers by Texas Rangers

OAKLAND, Calif. - Oakland A's infielder Adam Rosales was claimed off waivers by the Texas Rangers, the team announced today.

Rosales was designated for assignment by the A's on Wednesday to clear a 25-man roster spot for infielder Alberto Callaspo, who was acquired in a trade from the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday.

Rosales was selected from Sacramento July 24 for his second stint with the A's this year. He went 0 for 5 with two walks in two starts at shortstop and was hitting .193 with four home runs and eight RBI in 50 games overall with the A's. Rosales batted .211 in nine games with Triple-A Sacramento.
