OAKLAND, Calif.-Ovations Food Services, a food and beverage catering and concessions company that services many local entertainment and sports venues in the greater Bay Area, has been selected by the Oakland A's as the team's new provider of food and beverage concessions at O.co Coliseum. Aramark will continue to handle merchandise operations at the stadium.
Ovations, which plans to design more efficient kitchen layouts and implement custom concepts at the Coliseum, is a subsidiary of the Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment firm Comcast-Spectacor. The company will introduce its "Everything Fresh" program to A's fans this season, including a special focus on using locally-sourced ingredients and a rotating seasonal menu.
"Ovations has established a national reputation for providing excellent service to more than 135 facilities throughout the United States and Canada," said Michael Crowley, president of the Athletics. "We are particularly pleased to partner with a company with many local associations. In fact, two of the company's executives, both residents of Alameda County, have been season ticket holders for many years. We think our fans will immediately see the changes provided by Ovations, which will only enhance their experience at the ballpark."
Among Ovations' current clients are the Sacramento Rivercats and Raley Field, the Stockton Ports and Banner Island Ballpark-both minor league affiliates of the Athletics-as well as the California State Fair at Cal Expo in Sacramento, the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton, the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, the Santa Clara County Fair in San Jose and the Sonoma County Fair in Santa Rosa.
