Parrino claimed off waivers by Texas

OAKLAND, Calif. - Oakland A's infielder Andy Parrino was claimed off waivers by the Texas Rangers, the club announced today. Parrino was designated for assignment Feb. 27 when the A's acquired infielder Jake Elmore from the Chicago White Sox for cash.

Parrino had two stints with Oakland last year and went 4-for-34 (.118) with two doubles and one RBI in 14 games. He spent the balance of the season with Sacramento where he hit .210 with a .300 on-base percentage and .302 slugging percentage in 108 games. Parrino was originally acquired by the A's from San Diego with Andrew Werner for Tyson Ross and A.J. Kirby-Jones, November 16, 2012.
