A's Announce Opening Day Roster


The Oakland A's optioned left-handed pitcher Joe Savery, catcher Stephen Vogt and infielder Jake Elmore to Triple-A Sacramento, the club announced today. The A's also selected outfielder Sam Fuld from Sacramento and designated outfielder Michael Taylor for assignment. Oakland placed right-handed pitchers Ryan Cook (right shoulder tendinitis), A.J. Griffin (flexor muscle strain) and Fernando Rodriguez (Tommy John surgery) and outfielder Craig Gentry (lower back strain) on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 21, making them eligible for reinstatement April 5. Non-roster invitee Billy Burns was reassigned to minor league camp. In order to designate Taylor for assignment, the A's also selected Hiro Nakajima from Sacramento and optioned him to Sacramento.
