A's claim Andy Parrino off waivers


OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's claimed infielder Andy Parrino off waivers from the Texas Rangers and optioned him to Triple-A Sacramento, the club announced today.

Parrino was with the A's this spring but was designated for assignment Feb. 27 when Oakland acquired infielder Jake Elmore from the Chicago White Sox. He was claimed off waivers by the Rangers March 3 and was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock March 17. Parrino was batting .189 with five RBI in 13 games with the Express when he was designated for assignment April 18.
