A's Option RHP Evan Scribner to Sacramento


OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's optioned right-handed pitcher Evan Scribner to Triple-A Sacramento, the club announced today.

Scribner was recalled July 24 for his third stint with the A's this year and allowed one run on three hits in 4.0 innings over four outings before he was designated for assignment yesterday. He is 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA and .158 opponents batting average in six appearances overall for Oakland. The 29-year-old right-hander is also 4-1 with 14 saves, a 3.35 ERA and .243 opponents batting average in 31 games with Sacramento. Scribner has 57 strikeouts in 37.2 innings, an average of 13.62 strikeouts per nine innings, and has walked just seven for a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 8.14.
