OAKLAND -- A's center fielder Coco Crisp, sidelined since reinjuring his neck last Friday, could return this Friday for the team's series opener against the Astros.
On Tuesday, Crisp received multiple trigger-point injections to alleviate the pain, and he came away feeling good, according to manager Bob Melvin.
"We didn't have him do anything yesterday based on the shots," Melvin said Wednesday, "so if he feels that much better today, and with the off-day tomorrow, hopefully we have a chance on Friday."
Crisp has been battling neck issues for much of the season. His latest setback occurred in an effort to rob a home run by the Angels' Chris Iannetta.
